How to Verify Signs of a Haunting
Listen for sounds. Phantom sounds can take the form of voices, music or repetitive noises that occur at regular intervals. The characteristic sounds of footsteps in the night, laughing, crying or music that occur at regular intervals are attributed to a residual haunting. Intelligent or inhuman spirits may create sounds to get your attention or to communicate with you in some way. You may experience the sounds of knocking, tapping or scratching in the wall or loud crashes and bangs with no identifiable cause. Each is characteristic of specific types of Hauntings.
Feel the temperature. Cold spots with no physical reason often accompany Hauntings. The theory is that spirits need energy to manifest and draw energy from the surroundings, resulting in an area colder than the surrounding air by as much as 20 to 40 degrees. The cold spot seldom remains in one area for a prolonged period and may precede a manifestation or other paranormal activity.
Consider how you feel. Unusual physical sensations may signal paranormal activity. Dizziness, light headedness, a feeling of oppression or pressure on the chest, or nausea may suddenly become overwhelming when a spirit is present. Other physical sensations include the feeling of being touched, the feeling of being watched, and hair standing on end or extreme apprehension.
Unusual or unexplained physical and/or emotional feelings: experience being touched by something that cannot be seen, either lightly or with more aggression. In addition, clients frequently report the sensation of being watched by something unseen and the latter assertion is not in conjunction with any form of paranoia.
Listen for knocking. Rapping and banging: unexplained banging, rapping, and strange sounds are commonly reported by individuals experiencing paranormal phenomena. Rapping and banging are also commonly reported on sites experiencing poltergeist activity.
Check the animals. Animals behaving strangely: people are not seemingly alone when it comes to experiencing the paranormal; many animals living in haunted locations or locations where activity occurs also experience paranormal activity.
Notice any disturbances. Sudden unexplainable activity after recent remodeling of the location: A large number of the sites investigated by paranormal investigators in the field have been remodeled prior to the commencement of strange, unexplained activity. Some theories suggest that remodeling and paranormal activity is inextricably linked, and one theory suggests that any spirits/entities attached to a location are displeased with the changes that remodeling produces so they act out accordingly. Meanwhile, other theories suggest that remodeling creates noise disturbances, and therefore is simultaneously creating vibration disturbances as well.
Consider any illness signs. Physical illness with no medical relief or reason: In some cases, individuals will report having the sudden onset of rare illnesses, or un-diagnosable ailments after moving into a location that is paranormally active. Lesser signs of illness are also reported and include sleep disturbances, fatigue, and general malaise with little or no relief while in the location in question. When the individual is free of the location however, the latter symptoms either fade or disappear all together.

The difference between Ghosts & Spirits.
The difference between Ghosts & Spirits.
This is our definition of the differences between a ghost and a spirit. This is what Jim and I both believe, and what we both teach here at Ghoststudy: A ghost is someone who has passed on and is "stuck" between the physical world and the Afterlife. They do not cross through The Light to go on to the Afterlife, but stick around in this "netherworld" for one reason or another. A spirit is a person who has passed on, but has actually gone through The Light and into the Afterlife. There they go through a life review learning process, and after that, are able to come and go between the Afterlife and our physical world. Spirits come back to watch over us, and to comfort us. Ghosts do not. I hope this helps, but if anyone has any more questions, I'll do my best to answer them. |

Being a Paranormal Consultant!
Being a Paranormal Consultant is a rewarding and refreshing life, I mean fun and you never know what is going to happen.
Take my recent Ghost Hunt at Warwick Castle as a start, I have previously investigated Warwick Castle when I was much younger when I was starting out and we experienced a few strange phenomena. Firstly we heard heavy footsteps coming down the main tower, they sounded like heavy metallic steps as if they belonged to a Knight or Soldier. We were all accounted for and no-one else was inside the locked down Castle. We all rushed down to see if we could explain the noise but when we reached the bottom no-one was walking through the courtyard.
The second experience was inside a room in another part of the Castle which has never been open to the public, we started to get the so called Stone Throwing on command! but we were all sceptical of this phenomena as it was dark and we could hardly see each other. We had Night Vision cameras trained on us all and we used them to see if someone was doing this, but no avail.
We asked a female to sit down in the middle of the group and we asked if anything can do anything to her. All of a sudden another stone was thrown and we heard it bounce on the floor. when we were looking for where it had gone we noticed that it was perfectly balanced on the girls shoulder as if it had been placed there. But we knew it hadn't as we were watching her using the Night Vision. We can't explain how it got there.
Thirdly we were in the same room and were spread out so we could not touch each other, I called out for something to touch one of us, I all of a sudden felt an icy three fingers poke me in the back! I put the torch on and looked at my mate to see if he had done this and he was nowhere near me and had no time to move away when it happened. Did I feel a Spirit Touch me??
On my most recent visit to Warwick Castle, we never experienced that phenomena again but this time I was experiencing knocking on the wooden floor boards below me, but no-one could even get below us. Was Spirits trying to get my attention again?
I do feel that Warwick Castle is most likely Haunted with some form of spirits, be it Residual or Active? That's for me to try and find out again soon.
